Hallowqueer Carnival is an event that allows queer folx and their families a safe space for fun, games, and spooky activities. The evening festivities begin at 5 pm with a photo booth, a scavenger hunt, and the chance for all ghouls to collect some candy. Trunks of vehicles/tables are decorated in different themes, and volunteers pass out candy at every trunk. At 8 pm, we shift to a 13+ dance party with a host and live music.
Funds raised by the 2023 Hallowqueer Carnival helps support community events and programs provided by both Identity and Choosing Our Roots. Both of these organizations exist to serve the LGBTQIA+ community and their need for safe and affirming community spaces.
Ambient Spooky - Covers the cost of extra candy and prizes for games $150
Ghoulish - Covers the cost of photo booth props, tech and decor $200
Parlor Haunting - Covers the cost of a temporary tattoo booth $200
Cauldron - Pays for hot cocoa and snacks for the dance party $300
Phantastic Phantom - Covers the cost of prizes for our costume contest $400
Dancing Queen - Helps cover the costs of the musicians/EmCee $500
Haunted Halls - Helps cover the cost of the rental for The Nave $750
